H015 Sentry Parts List
From Rebeldroids Wiki
See details for the major components:
- Antennae - there are 3 antennae on the top
- Head
- Black neck ring - this contains LEDs on some sides. The blue one is "front" on the movie droid for operator reference.
- Body
- Skirt
- Faux wheels - each corner has a small black 88.9mm diameter ball pretending to be wheels. In practice they sit a few mm above the floor.
- Lego Greebles! - Yes, Lego! The bottom black details were created from Lego, then molded and cast in lightweight resin. Each of the 4 sides is theoretically identical, though I notice the seems in the corners don't fit perfectly on the movie model.
- Holonomic drive - the movie droid has 4 omniwheels arranged so that it can rotate in place and move in any direction. Allows interesting movement and makes it fun to drive.
Electronics
- 5 LEDs, RGB addressable WS2812 style (or similar)
- Arduino (most any version, I'm using Leonardo compatible)
- 4 Pololu Simple Motor Controllers | SMC G2 18v15 suggested (or similar)
- 4 Motors (Eg: 37D 12V, | Pololu 30:1 Metal Gearmotor 37Dx52L mm is one option)
- Standard RC Receiver (& transmitter)
- 12V Battery
- Miscellaneous connection wire
Omniwheel Hardware
The motors mentioned above have to connect to the wheels. There may be a better way to do this than the parts kresty used:
- 4 Omniwheels 4" or 100mm - Shawn used VEX 276-2185
- 4 Square Shafts for Omniwheels, 2" long is OK (if using the VEX omnis)
- 4 Couplers (connect square shaft to 47D shaft)
- 8 Bearings (for square shaft, I used standard 608 bearings and printed spacers)
