Stub for the SN-1F4 "Sifter" Droid seen in The Force Awakens

Sifter droids sound a lot like metal detectors, looking for valuable junk left over in the sands of Jakku or wherever. Apparently they can be larger but this is a little one.

Size

We're guessing that the main body is about 30cm in diameter, and that it's footprint would fit in a square a little larger than 30cm.

Behind the Scenes

There were a three "hoover" droids built for The Force Awakens. Hoovers because they were built around a wet/dry vac frame (Hoover being a British word for vacuum cleaner for some reason). Each one has a similar frame, but different details. I haven't seen photos of the others.

Construction

The "body" is a 20L Wickes Wet/Dry Vacuum/Blower canister (the main part, no wheels or top). The big hose is presumably the hose from that vacuum. The treads seem likely to be the 276-2168 VEX Tank Tread Kit.

Threads

There's currently a single "sifter droid" thread http://www.rebeldroids.net/forum/showthread.php?tid=457
