Wiki! (Beta)
#1
We have a wiki!  Thanks Savage for providing the space!

It's at http://rebeldroids.net/wiki though I'll add a link to the header in a while.

Here's an example page: http://www.rebeldroids.net/wiki/index.ph...ouse_Droid

The hope is to have useful things, like info about the various droids, discussion of the various bits of them, and hints about constructing the droids.  We should link from the droids to their galleries & plans for those that have them.

Additionally I started some sections on generic robot/model/RC concepts.  Since we're building a bunch of different droids with different techniques, it'll be helpful to have stuff there.

It's in Beta!!!

Hopefully it won't be too buggy, but it does have some quirks right now:
  • If you want to add stuff you need to logon again to the wiki pages.  Same username/password
  • Please hit remember me, and if you logon again, try to have the same casing of your user name.
  • Some interesting characters may confuse it.  If you can't logon and want to contribute, PM me.
  • Cookies confuse it.  If you can't get it to work, try logging out of rebeldroids and logging back in, &/or clearing your cookies, &/or a different browser.
  • Links currently are the same color as the text.  Presumably I'll fix that, but the answer wasn't trivial, there are tons of default styles stomping all over the links.
  • You may link to images, such as in the gallery.  <img src="http://wherever" width="120" height="120"> type tags are allowed Smile
I imagine droids will start off with a single page and grow to have sub-pages when we learn more about them &/or have more building experience.

Have fun!

Savage reports trouble in FireFox Sad I'll try to take a look. If used Edge and IE reasonably OK, but browsers are all quirky so I'm not terribly surprised.

Reports are that it's also OK in Safari.

I deleted the cookies and it's working fine in Firefox for me, now.

Whew, thanks for letting me know. So that we don't have to have two login accounts (and more to the point all the spam and management that came with that), I connected the disparate bits of software. Unfortunately that means the wiki and the forum have their own cookies and, particularly while I was testing stuff, the cookies could get confused.

If either gives you trouble, try clearing cookies, &/or the forum's logout link (which I made try to clear the right wiki cookies).
