Started this project a few years back before it got shelved. Then a new lease of life began this year with being able to 3D print parts needed and some free wood![](http://emoji.tapatalk-cdn.com/emoji3.png)

Here’s some progress picture so far:

Car is a Schumacher SST.....model not 100% sure lol.

Lower wood sections glued together with PVA glue. These will be strengthened later with fibreglass.
Using the ‘draft’ plans, I drew up in CAD the front panel. After a few changes, I came up with this...

The grey ring is a push fit to hold a cabochon in place. I’ll probably draw up a version that has a solid 3D dome included. The filler primer is a must![](http://emoji.tapatalk-cdn.com/emoji1417.png)
Once sanded smooth, the ‘wet gloss effect’ from spraying Matt black tho looks impressive.

Once (almost) dried it still looked good.
Re-fitted the cabochon and the sprayed retaining ring.

Next up is the frame and shell.
