My first thought is let's move this to the build area of the forum

As far as the different versions of the Pit Droid, my focus has been on trying to replicate the ones we saw on screen in the Phantom Menace.  All of the variations since have either been stylizations (like the ones seen in Clone Wars the animated series) or created before the design was finalized (the maquette in the Lucas Film archives) or after the films where released (the statue in the gift store at ILM).  Not that I'm averse to creating versions of some of those as well, just up to this point I've been focusing solely on the digital version from the film.

Agreed and Fair enough about the movie selection type of pit droid. I think I have been more focused on what is possible in the real world than the style of pit droid hence the question about the shoulders.  If we want to tackle a movie accurate version, I'm up for the challenge heheheh. Okay, I'm going to go over to the other area and make a topic to continue there.
