I showed this to one of my co-workers, another star wars fan and Lego builder. He has a Lego Falcon, Slave 1, X-wing and Star Destroyer in his office. When he saw it he got excited, saying, "My wife and I were married on this ship!"

Aha! That was you I saw on Youtube building the Lego R2-D2 - I recognize the dining room from the video. I was checking out some time-lapse Lego builds the other night and found one of yours.
Do you have a thread where you go over how you designed and built the Lego R2-D2?
One of my numerous projects I want to work on is a Lego model of my store... I don't think it should be too hard, it's not a very fancy building. I just keep forgetting to take a few photos of it, plus there's a big tree out front that makes it more difficult to photograph.

If you look at my threads there's a build thread for L3-G0, however he's also got a blog at http://L3-G0.com that may have more info... A store would be way easier than that. Just measure the size and scale up or down, but stores are usually square, which helps a lot in Lego! Hint would be to find out what size Lego doors or windows are available and choose that scale. Parts are usually purchased from http://bricklink.com, way cheaper than from Lego.... Good luck!

Thanks - I have used Bricklink before. I bought a big lot of Legos and slowly re-assembled the sets but discovered a few pieces missing here and there.
After I had gone through all the manuals that came with the lot it got to be more like forensics work... I'd have to find a piece that was unusual, look up the part number on Peeron.com, and find the set that used that color piece. I rebuilt a couple dozen sets that way.
I've been checking Ebay once in a while for a similar auction but haven't found the right - er... "fit" yet. And I'm sure you're aware of how expensive some of those Lego lots can be.

Yeah but what I'm looking for is a large lot of mixed Legos or separated by color, either with or without the manuals. I find it a challenge to dig through all the parts and build the sets that way. Moreso if there's no manuals as I have to research the pieces, CSI style.
If I was building something from scratch I'd get the stuff from Bricklink.
Sad to say I hate LEGO .. my abusive c*** of a step father and my mother never bought for me, did for my half brothers and sister but never me, so I hate the stuff.
But I will buy for my son, want him to enjoy everything in life. So get ya R2 approved so he can built it at a later date.
