After working on mine, I'm not sure that'd be much easier.  I glued the bands around without having to worry about where exactly the bands started and stopped.  If there were alignment holes on them, then I'd have to make sure the bands were positioned exactly at this step.

Additionally I had to trim a bit of one end, particularly on the first layer of the double layer stuff.

Maybe I'll change my mind when I get far enough along to try to figure out how to attach those bits Smile
