Door Mechanism

I'd been figuring I'd just do whatever came to mind and not really be very particular about the door.  But I took a closer look at the mechanism and see that it doesn't look like what I'd expected.

I brightened the interior. 

I'd thought the hinge arms would slide through something on the inside because I've seen desks like that, but I now see that there's a car on a vertical track that raises to shut the door.

Perhaps that's even a common furniture part?
