Edit Reason: (This is a test)
)
(Ok, Savage said it was hopeless, however since there's a faux wheels thread I moved those posts to that:
http://rebeldroids.net/forum/showthread.php?tid=209)
On the plus side several of the controls on this page were messed up because this block was still on the old version after the bb was upgrade to the new version - so I had to fix that first and hopefully some of the quirky bits on these posting pages are less quirky now!
(Wow, quick edit actually works!)

I think we'd landed on the holonomic wheels being the 4" VEX ones?

Which makes a lot of sense since everyone on the Astromech site has been talking about using those in their Artoo builds - and we know a few Astromechs were built at the same time, so Oliver'd have had those "on hand".

Yup. I'm trying to figure out how to mount to my 6mm D shaft motor - We're going to use the 37D Pololu gearmotor that we used for a dome motor....

Hi. I would like to share my ideas but I do not manage to add any photos/pictures.... I seen a thread about this topic but I can not find it. Someone?

I added a post about how to upload images:
http://www.rebeldroids.net/forum/showthread.php?tid=239 - you can also upload them to someplace like Flickr and copy a URL (to the actual image, not the page). Flickr has a "BBCode" button on their share feature that works to get code to put in your post.
For DIY URLs, just hit the image button on the message composing thingy and paste in the URL.

I will make a outer part from 3-4 mm aluminium as seen on the first picture. I made the part transparent on the picture to show the bolt position.
The actual hub can then be made to fit any motor/gearbox shaft and bolted together with the outside plate.

Thanks, Savage kinda prodded me to 3D print a hub, which makes sense and I've done that sort of thing before. Got an aluminum hub to attach to the D-shaft.
I decided not to do the banebots 'cause they're so much more expensive than the pololu. We'll see how it goes, might not be as quick to start, but I think they'll do.
